Robert Stern has spent more than two decades inside the trance and techno scene. He started as a dancer chasing the feeling the music gave him, and since 2004 he has been the one behind the decks creating it for others. His sets move through driving techno, uplifting trance and progressive, built around one idea: the dance floor is a place to get out of your head.
That ear was recognized early. In 2006 the Vegas Music Conference received more than 400 emerging-artist submissions from as far as Indonesia, Greece, London and the Netherlands, and chose 50 to perform alongside headliners including Erick Morillo, the Crystal Method, BT, Darude and Matt Darey. Robert was one of them, playing the conference's Friday after-hours at Late Night Empire on a night that also featured Second Sun, Matt Darey and Marques Wyatt.
In Las Vegas today, his mission lives through In Search of Sunset, the trance/techno/progressive night he co-founded and co-runs at Audio Bar in the Arts District. Twice a month since June 2024, he and DJ partner InTheDark have brought that sound to the city's underground.
Robert has shared the booth with some of the scene's most respected names, including direct support sets for Richard Durand, Myon & Shane 54, Dustin Hussain, Space 92, Pig & Dan, Kristina Sky, Sequence Six, Nox Vahn, Felix Cartel, Mark Lewis and Greg Downey.
